Star Surf Camps – Moliets, France
The South West of France is personally one of our favourite areas in the world, it can offer pretty much everything you could want from a short (or long) break. Great weather, great surf, great food, and great people. What’s not to like?
Star Surf’s camp is set amongst the pine forests of Moliets Plage, in the surfing heart of France under 30 minutes from Hossegor. Star’s camp can only be described as the quintessential surf camp, walking distance to the beach while barefoot, stylish bell-tents under the pine trees and stars, a skate ramp, yoga deck and hammock area all on hand to give you a full experience of the surf lifestyle.
This camp is perfect for solo travellers or those groups looking for a week packed full of surfing, good times, great people and a party or two! With packages available to suit all surf levels and prices starting from just £227.00 per person, this camp should definitely be high on your list for this summer.
Tiny Whale Surf Lodge – Portugal

Latas Surf House – Spain
The Latas Surf House describe themselves as a “Grassroots company born from a growing dream”.
Unsurprisingly, This is a surf house built on pure passion and a love for surfing, their amazing team hails from various corners of the world, who have all found the little slice of surfing heaven that is Loredo. Loredo and the surrounding area of Cantabria have some of the most consistent surf conditions in Spain, and the team has the expert local knowledge to find the best beach for you every day, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned surfer.
The surf house has a variety of private and shared rooms available to suit couples, families, groups as well as solo travellers, and even special Junior camps for the groms. Not to mention a lunch and dinner menu to rival local restaurants.
There is a special feel to the surf house’ communal areas, whether you’re looking for a small gym sessions, a skate on the mini ramp, a game of ping pong or volleyball or just to relax in the Spanish sun with a homemade smoothie or a local beer, at Latas there will always be someone to share in the surf house lifestyle.
La Point – Norway
In our eyes planning a surf trip should be an excuse for an adventure, which is exactly what you get with this camp in Hoddevik, Norway. Making the trip up to Hoddevik (Norway’s most westerly point) is almost an annual pilgrimage for many Norwegian surfers and yet to the rest of us it remains an obscure destination for a surf trip. You’ll find the sand beach of Hoddevik hidden away between old Viking settlements and tall (sometimes snowcapped) mountains that shelter the beach perfectly from crosswinds. The summer waves here are perfect for beginners or a cruisy longboard session and with the right swell can give some great waves for more experienced surfers.
“Shangri-La for those who don’t mind the cold”
Accommodation is based across 2 different surf villas ‘Standlet’ and ‘Instikten’, choose to be just minutes away from the beach or further up the mountain and treat yourself to the most incredible surf check skates down the iconic road to Hoddevik beach. Spend your days sunbathing by the slackline, skating the mini ramp, playing volleyball or BBQ-ing with your fellow surfers, jumping in the traditional hot tub then top it all off by heading down for a true Scandinavian surf in the midnight sun.
There’s not much we could write that would do this surf camp justice. There’s a special feeling that comes with a surfing a spot this remote and relatively untouched by the modern world, a kind of Shangri-La for those who don’t mind the cold, and firmly atop my personal surfing bucket list!
