Situated in southwestern Europe, Portugal borders the Atlantic Ocean. Portugal is a great holiday destination for many reasons. Cheap flights, warm Mediterranean climate and awesome surf. It is becoming an extremely popular destination for surfers so make sure you don’t miss out on all the fun.
With 586 miles of coastline, there are plenty of surf spots for you to check out. Portugal has a big variety of waves and swells size making it an ideal spot for surfers of all abilities, this also makes it an ideal place to learn to surf. During the summer months, the surf in Portugal is usually between 3 – 6ft. Winter is, however, a whole other story with waves getting up to 15+ft.

La Point Portugal camp
Located in the beautiful town of Ericeira, only 40 minutes from Lisbon, this surf camp is within walking distance to both some of Europes best surf spots and the cosy cobblestoned streets of the town. The town itself has some great cafes and restaurants for you to explore and try some delicious Portuguese food.
The surf camp itself is open from March to November and runs Monday – Monday and is open to groups, couples and solo travellers. Designed to be a combination of fun, active and relaxed this surf camp has it all. With amazing views, on-site bar and restaurants, skate bowl and an outdoor gym this camp is much more than just surfing! This surf camp is truly dedicated to ensuring you have the best and most comfortable stay in their camp and it is definitely not one to be missed.
Hidden along the cobbled lanes of the historical town of Lagos lies the surf camp. From here, their team of devoted surf guides and off-road vehicles will take you off the beaten track to surf some of south Portugal’s best surf breaks. The beaches around Lagos are some of the most beautiful in the Algarve region, like Praia de Dona Ana, which can be reached after a 25 minutes walk from the centre of the town, Praia do Camilo, a little further on, and Meia Praia, whose sands stretch for 4 km (2.5 miles) east of Lagos. All this great weather, surf and history are a short flight away from Northern Europe, making this the number one surf destination for any surfer, at any level.
Opened in 1992 this surf camp has over 25 years of surfing experience, run by to awesome guys, Toby and Toby, their many years of experience and knowledge is truly reflected in a surf week.
These guys have a few accommodation options to choose from to suit every traveller. The surf house is 18+ and has a mix of dorm rooms, private doubles or twins, all with shared bathrooms, the surf house also boastest to huge roof terraces where the famous surf experience BBQs are held. If you are looking for a bit more privacy the traditional Pensao is perfect, all the rooms are private with ensuite bathrooms and only a 90-second walk to the main surf house.
