Shortcut to Longboarding 2 – Out Now!

Newquay ex-pat and multiple English, British and European champion Lee Ryan pinged us an e-mail yesterday from his new pad in New Zealand to let us know he has just finished the second volume of his “Shortcut to Longboarding“.

Life Savers, Stags and Cross Steppers

Busy day today at our surf school in Newquay. We had the final lifeguard exam for our March “Cross Step” Course, 8 young people out of work and education have been trained to become British Surfing Association surf coaches and NARS Beach Lifeguards since the start of March, at no cost to them.

Flow Rider Team Gets Training with Errant

The UK’s first ever Flow Rider* has finally been installed 10 miles outside of Newquay at the Retallack Resort. Last weekend Errant head surf coach Chris Thomson from the Newquay based Errant Surf School took time out of the ocean to train 12 students to coach clients who will be staying and surfing at the resort this summer.

Perfect Mal Magic Weekend

Spring is in the air, this weekend we hit the beach with our Newquay based longboard coaching weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday we scored fun, small clean waves in the morning and honed our skills in the coaching room in the afternoon’s. Focusing on trim, cross stepping, generating speed and turning seven surfers left with a bag of tips for the coming summer season. Not to mention a bag full of Science in Sport products, a CD packed FULL of professional images shot by surf photographer Ben Jones and a DVD full of video clips.

Errant Cross Step Course – Day 3

The second Real Ideas Organisation “Cross Step course” run by Errant Surf Holidays is in full swing today. The course which started on Monday will last four weeks, when 10 students will graduate with their NARS Beach Lifeguard Award and BSA surf coach award, and a better chance of employment for the coming year. Yesterday was a stunning afternoon in Newquay, Cornwall. Calm seas, and a warm (ish) winter sunshine. The guys hit the water for some tube rescues, board rescues and an introduction to spinal management.
