Hi Errant Surf,

Have been meaning to email you to say how much I enjoyed the longboarding weekend – just wish it could have been longer!

Accommodation was great – welcoming and comfortable with a good breakfast and (importantly) a hot powerful shower.

Tuition was excellent – great to get so much video feedback – nicely tailored to our needs and kept simple. I particularly found the coaching notes we made useful.

Customer service throughout has also been excellent. I would definitely use Errant again and if I can persuade my wife that it’s a good thing I’ll be taking a look at Morocco next year!

Many thanks again.

We send out an automated feedback e-mail to every customer who surfs with us, be it Newquay or Bali. When we get a moment we like to share them here on our blog.

Feedback:

My accommodation on the Surf and Yoga holiday in Morocco was a lovely peaceful home with good energy, great company and delicious food. I absolutely loved the coastal views, especially during the sunrise/sunset yoga. It was unfortunately a bit too cold in the evenings to go swimming in the pool… any plans to install a hot tub?

As mentioned, at first I didn’t have a lot of interest in surfing during my trip, as I’m nervous in the ocean and have only tried bodyboarding (years ago.) But Youness’s instruction was exceptional; he was super patient and articulate in describing the mechanics of surfing. I was riding waves (even a few unbroken ones) by the 4th day and conquered my fears about the swell. Such a great, unexpected experience.

I loved those hearty meals! Especially “fish night”. Shane really mixed it up and kept each dinner thematically interesting. I also loved his morning smoothies and juices.

Overall the staff was friendly and booking online was easy. What a wonderful trip to Morocco – and who’d knew I’d fall in love with surfing. I really just wanted the twice daily yoga initially… hope to get back sooner than a year from now – will keep you posted!

Best, Barbara

Thank you for the email, I had very enjoyable stay in Morocco. The trip
was exactly what I wanted and the service provided by all the staff at
the camp was excellent, I was made to feel very much at home from
arriving at the airport. The accommodation was clean and very relaxing,
surf coaching was good with staff being open to questions at any time of
the day. Food and drink was very good, particularly the evening meal,
which gave an opportunity for everyone to chat about the days
experiences and plan the next one. Overall I would thoroughly recommend
friends to stay at the surf camp at Tamaraght.

Thanks again for being so swift and accommodating to any emails I sent.
I look forward to booking another trip with you in the future.

Kind regards, Nick

Feedback:

Accommodation was basic but perfectly adequate, clean and tidy for Morocco. Surf coaching was superb, Chris is a real people person and without being Hitler really gets the best out of people abilities. Food/drink was fantastic. This really was the icing on the cake, and I couldn’t fault the food at all, and always plenty of it.
Customer service in Morocco and in the UK was spot on. I would say your customer service is about the best in the industry. You certainly dont collect the money and run. Pre-trip and post trip the customer service has been seamless.

Cheers Matt.

After each surfing holiday we provide, we send out a feedback e-mail to find out what was amazing, and what could be better. Hey, we want to get better! Every now and then we share them online, with the green light from its author. Euan and his partner travelled with us last week to Tamraght in Morocco. This is what they had to say:

Accommodation

As expected. Clean and practical. Good location and liked the group dining area and sun trap on the roof.

Possible thoughts would be bathroom towels to save us from using beach towels but a small matter.

Surf coaching

Damon was really friendly and very laidback which was exactly what we were looking for. He was there for advice when we needed and very accommodating and willing to help with non-surfing related issues. I’ve had a mental block about names but the other kid was a really good teacher too and always there to help in the waves.

Food/drink

The food was fantastic. Fatima is a great cook. This exceeded our expectations. She’s a real asset, as is her brother who again I’ve completely forgotten his name even though I can remember his constant smile.

Customer service in location and in the UK.

Customer service was excellent before going and fantastic when we arrived. Went beyond the call of duty, helping us arrange a car and driver to take us to the mountain. Brilliant positive attitude.

Many thanks

Euan

Hi Errant Surf,

I’m pleased to say that all the feedback I can give on this trip is positive.

To be honest I thought I was booking into a surfing hostel – and I’ve recently been to some of these in Newquay… La Hosteria de Latas is nothing like these places, and more like a 4 star hotel. What it does have in common with hostels, however, is the friendly guests and great staff. The bar has a great mix of friendly locals and international guests, and the beer is cold and cheap.

The Hosteria also has some excellent food, running barbecues and Carlos’s legendary paella nights at least once each every week. However, there are also some very good and cheap local restaurants in Loredo, and more expensive, and not as good, restaurants in Somo.

This was an excellent trip, I would recommend it to anyone, and I’m certain to go back next year.

One thing that may be worth considering would be the ability to hire boards from the Hosteria. While there is a lot of places to hire boards in Somo, they tend to be NSP boards. A few decent surftec shapes or similar which could be hired from the hostel or the surf school would be really useful.

Best wishes

Rick Stafford

We thought our surf holiday (south west France) was terrific!

Patrick our instructor was on hand whenever we needed him, even taking us to the supermarket as we didn’t have a car. Free of charge, he provided us with bikes to allow us to get around a barbeque so we could make use of the balcony and was always only a phone call away when we needed to change lesson times and the like. He had a good range off boards that allowed those of us who were confident enough to move on to EPOXY resin boards from the (brand new) foam topped boards that we started on.

By way of coaching, all four of us had a great time during Patrick’s lessons, he providing a solid grounding on the basis of waves and the science behind reading waves and their formation as well as striking a good balance between providing useful pointers when surfing, while allowing us plenty of time to learn, make mistakes and spend plenty of time in the water. All of us improved dramatically over the week and more educated about surfing which will make me if not the others more confident about surfing elsewhere in the future.

The flat was ideal, for us, compact, clean with everything we needed to eat in as well as being a stone’s throw from the beach and the main Seignosse strip. The strip had plenty going on with pubs and restaurants to enjoy and Hossegor only a 20min bike ride or taxi away when we were looking for a bit more action.

All in all, we were all thoroughly impressed with the service that we got and left keen to take up surfing, likely to return to the area and mates with the instructor. Couldn’t really ask for much more.

Regards,

David

The actual surf lodge was not only really beautiful and relaxing but had an excellent group of people working there which were always happy to help out and made you feel welcome; they did everything they could to ensure you had a good time. It was a surf holiday that I couldn’t fault and have highly recommended the place to other friends that surf; and also those that don’t.
