Ground Swell CIC are hosting a five star black tie surf media event at the Atlantic Hotel in Newquay on the 10th of September 2010 to raise funds for the continuation of the Ground Swell UK Pro Surf Junior tour.

For £30 per person there will be a five course silver service sit down dinner, a selection of new, short British surfing movies from Ground Swell and up and coming film maker TR7 Productions, including a sneak 5 minute preview of the highly anticipated “Indolerium” documenting the recovery of pro surfer Mitch Cotbett. Then there will be a surf auction with some incredible lots that you just won’t be able to resist bidding on, trust us they are amazing.

After dinner it’s time to loosen the ties and widen the belt buckles and enjoy a few tunes to be spun by Ground Swells very own DJ Josh Hughes.

A night of indulgence, amazing entertainment and some spectacular products for you to bid on in our surf auction.

Each guest will receive a gift bag, and a great night.

All surf companies that purchase a table for themselves and staff or friends will receive advertising at each of the upcoming pro junior events.

This is a great opportunity for a staff night out or a treat for yourselves, family and friends after a long hard summer, and safe in the knowledge that you are doing your bit for the future of British surfing. This is a highly anticipated event and will sell out fast, this is the only event of its kind and is a great excuse to get dressed up, have a nice dinner get your hands on some goodies that you cant buy anywhere else in the world, listen to some good tunes and watch some great surfing. This is also an opportunity for surf companies to get involved with an up a company, that have the future of British surfing at the forefront of their business model. We are here to push and help the young people, who want to make their lives surfing and the surf industry and hope that as surfing companies you can support this event and British surfing.

Some of you may have heard of us and some may not. Ground Swell has been set up to provide young British surfers and young people who want to start careers and in the surf industry, whether that is to become a professional surfer, photographer, videographer, event management, surf judge, surf coach, and much more Ground Swell is there too help, we have a database of contacts, for funding, work placement, and guidance and support.

We are currently sponsoring the Pro junior tour, last year there was only two pro junior events this year with help from the UK pro surf Tour we have been able to put on eight events running alongside the main open. This is a massive improvement for Young British surfers and can only be good for the progression of British surfing in general. But to continue this we need funding, this is the reason for this event.

This event is promoted, researched and is going to be run by young surfers wishing to gain experience in event management. The whole concept of Ground Swell is delivered by the young people for young people.
