Charlottes Blog

A client asked me a few days ago if I could have a look to see if there were any cheap flight deals going for a surf holiday between now and Christmas. After around ten minutes trailing through budget airline sites one after the other tediously noting price increases for the Festive period (that is so nearly upon us) I stumble across possibly the best flight deal! Wait for it…. £25 return Stansted to Agadir (Morocco) a week before Christmas.

Before giving any real thought to it or made any plans I suddenly find a confirmation of booking … Continue Reading

Feedback

Barbados rocks!  We absolutely loved our holiday.  The two destinations that we’ve gone to with Errant have both been great – Loredo in Spain and Barbados – thank you.

Zed and his team were fantastic and the accommodation/location was spot on… exactly what we were looking for.

Thanks v much

40 Foot Waves Hit UK

A huge swell is heading for the West Coast of Ireland and United Kingdom and forcast to peak this week on Sunday evening. Waves are forecast to be in the 35 to 40 ft range and higher. Last Sundays ‘warm up’ delivered some enormous waves as witnessed in the photo above.

General situation (13h00 20Novermber 2009): A deep area of low pressure near Iceland will bring gales to parts of the Briitish Isles. Another deep Atlantic low will bring more severe weather on Saturday and Sunday.

Big surf coming!

Harry Timson Video Blog

Errant’s youngest team rider, Harry Timson has just sent us his latest clips of him surfing in Newquay, Cornwall. His surfing has come on amazingly, probably down to the fact he spent the majorty of his school holidays ripping it up in Hossegor, France. At just 13 years old “Hazza” is off to the World Jnr Games in New Zealand at the start of next year.

We are looking forward to supporting him for the event and into 2010.

Pearce wins UKPST Newquay

The Animal team cleaned up the top spots of the UK Pro Surf tour in Newquay at the weekend. Alan Stokes claimed the overall men’s open title and Gwen Spurlock became overall women’s open champion too. This is a great finish for Gwen who has taken home the Welsh Junior and British Junior title already this year.

After the stormy conditions provided by Mother Nature on day one, meaning the event was moved to Towan beach, the competition returned to Fistral. Day two saw a challenging chunky 6ft swell and a strong cross-shore SSW wind testing the … Continue Reading

Another New Slab in Scotland!

Mitch from our Ground Swell team headed north last week to surf the new Number 10′s slab. Check out this video clip, I am sure there will be more to come so watch this space!

Advice on buying your first surfboard

There is something great about actually owning your own surfboard (and wetsuit!).

All those hours spent surfing, are soon going to be spent on the same surfboard, and this will help your surfing no end. Surfing has so many variables in surfing already, that by using your own equipment you get rid of at least one!

1.CHOOSING YOUR FIRST SURFBOARD: Buy a second hand surfboard, or ask at your local shop for a good mini-mal package which should include a board, bag and a leash. Surfboards that are suitable for beginners are always in demand, they will hold their value if … Continue Reading

Teletransportation

Two days ago we were due to sail from Santander, Northern Spain to Plymouth, as the day approached the swell got bigger and bigger. With the winds increasing as well, we decided for the sanity of my wife Theresa, and the well being of our children we would ditch the 22 hour sail across the Bay of Biscay in favour of a shorter five hour sailing from Roscoff in France.

Of course this still involved driving from Loredo, Spain to the tip of Northern France, a drive which would cover over 1,000km in 12 hours.

As the twisty … Continue Reading
