After a month of training with Errant Surf Holidays coach Chris Thomson, British comedian Justin Lee-Collins headed out for his first ever surf contest. The BPSA Saltrock event took place over last weekend, the day started with small, almost flat conditions but as the tide came in through the day the swell increased to head high waves.
JLC found himself up against Europe’s best surfer Russel Winter, local surfers Scott Rannochan and Lyden Wake. During the 15 minute heat JLC only managed to score a 0.4 and a 0.3, out of a possible 20.

If you are aged 18 – 25, and are currently not in employment or education you can train with us to gain qualifications which will lead to employment within the surfing industry. Starting on the 1st June, the six week course will run over three days a week in Newquay, UK. Anyone interested should visit the Ground Swell website and register.
After a great start learning to surf in the UK, British comdian was unlucky to burst his ear drum while training for the high diving element of the next Sky One project. Back on track JLC will travel alongside Errant’s Chris Thomson to Croyde for this years UKPST event at the end of May ready to compete. Stay tuned to follow his progress.
